Multi-touch Laptops from Lenovo

We see now as the right time for multitouch screens on PCs,” said Sam Dusi, vice president, worldwide ThinkPad product marketing, Lenovo. “With touch screens increasingly becoming part of more devices we use routinely and continued improvement of the technology including the integration of touch in the upcoming Windows 7 operating system, the environment for making touch part of our Tablet PC and ThinkPad T400s laptop experience couldn’t be better. We’ve also extended the touch experience with SimpleTap to make frequent hardware-based functions touch-enabled and simple.”

With the release of Windows 7 around the corner, Lenovo has introduced two new versions of its pre-existing laptop models but with a pinch of flavor added to them. Lenovo has made its laptops touch smart. I mean they now have touch screens in them and not just touch but multi-touch is added to them.

The new X200 laptop has a faster Core2Duo processor and can be handled by two finger multi-touch. The later version T400s is a step ahead and it can handle upto four finger multi-touch capability. But with all this pretty stuff in place, there will definitely be a bang on your purse and the prices go as $1999 for the T400s and $1729 for the X200 version. There is also another version of X200 with the outdoor screen option but it will cost you a little more at $1779
